Wayfarin' Stranger
There are lots of versions of this folk song (Johnny Cash/ Joan Baez/Ed Sheeran)
Finger clicks from beginning up to end of verse 2, if you can do that when singing!
(2 lots of 2 clicks, space, then 3 clicks. I don't get it right every time in the practise track!)
1st verse - Continue Ohs and then all sing tune from "I'm going there to meet my mother"
2nd verse harmonies, continue clicks if you can.
3rd verse harmonies but quieter and slower, no clicks or accompaniment. Notice pause on "roam" and break before last word "home".
I am a poor wayfaring stranger
Travellin’ through, this world alone
And there's no sickness, no toil or danger
In that bright land to which I go
I'm going there to meet my mother
I’m going there no more to roam
I'm only going over Jordan
I'm only going over home
Although dark clouds are gathered round me
Although my way is rough and steep
Those blessed lands all lie before me
My dwellin’ place the angels keep
I'm going there to meet my father
I’m going there no more to roam
I'm only going over Jordan
I'm only going over home
I am a poor wayfaring stranger
Travellin’ through, this world alone
And there's no sickness, no toil or danger
In that bright land to which I go
I’m going there to meet my brother
I’m going there no more to roam
I’m only going over Jordan
I’m only going over home
