On Thursday 18th January 2018, we celebrated our first “choirversary”.
It’s hard to believe that it was a year ago when the first few singers nervously crept into the Music Room at Wicor; so many apologizing before starting - “I really can’t sing”.
And now look at us! Of the 26 who came the first week, 18 are still coming, and we now have over 40 regulars.
What a year! We sang at Wicor’s “Last Night of the Proms” and at Portchester’s Christmas Lights Celebration; we took part in Portchester’s Remembrance Service and performed at the Community Centre’s Christmas Funday and we braved the cold, singing carols around the village.
It has been so lovely to be involved in our local community. We’ve discovered that we enjoy performing and that we make a pretty good sound. Wonder what we’ll be able to write for our 2nd Choirversary?
